Jim Carney Cancer Treatment Centre
This was a fundraising dream which A-Line made reality through collaboration between Northland’s District Health Board and generous donations from the Northland community. This spacious, purpose built cancer treatment centre is dramatically upgraded from its previous inadequate facilities. Designed as a two-level structure, with the service rooms and full wards effectively at ground level, this building will house 50 people at a time, with up to 30 treatments a day being conducted. The 895m2 basement area has been designed to allow for future expansion if more space is ever needed. In keeping with its local, day-care aspect, the building is designed to look residential, making it welcoming and homely to those who visit the centre.
